Using the responses to the questionnaires that we collect over a 3 year period, we aim to assess:

  • knowledge of and attitudes to HIV transmission risks and the role of HIV treatment
  • HIV testing and how this changes over time in terms of frequency and location
  • attitudes to and use of Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
  • quality of life and lifestyle factors (e.g. chemsex, drug and alcohol use) and their possible links to sexual risk behaviours
  • incidence and predictors of new HIV infections
  • changes over time of risk behaviour including number of partners, casual partners, use of condoms
  • prevalence of medical and psychological symptoms (e.g. hepatitis C, depression and anxiety)

We aim to use the responses to our questionnaires to help inform and shape healthcare services to specifically meet the needs of the community, to reduce HIV and STI infection and increase HIV testing.
